The Changing Face of Masculinity

We change the face of masculinity in relation to the feminine by changing the way we hold and honor the free expression of our own feminine energies.  

We provide safe containers for men to be fully expressed – not only in the embodiment of their masculine energies – but also towards deeper expression, understanding and reconciliation of their own stifled, unexpressed feminine energies.  

So many men are disconnected from accessing and giving themselves permission to allow this beautiful energy to flow and move through them.  

“Disconnected” because the expression was met with pain. 

This expression was unsupported by society, a homophobic culture at home or by an educational system that either did not care or simply turned a blind eye to the abuse projected onto young men by other young men if they expressed any form of feminine energy.  They were ridiculed, ostracized or even beaten for this expression.  

We change the face of masculinity in relation to the feminine by changing the way we hold and honor the free expression of our own feminine energies.

So what do they do? They lock this part of themselves away.  They fall out of relation with an important part of themselves and begin to drink this nourishment externally through their shadows.

The reality is if you hate the feminine within, you will never truly be free to hold and love her in her majesty and awe without.  

She won’t fully trust you.  If you can’t hold your own feminine, how can you be trusted to hold hers?  

We are complex, sentient beings.  We may have a resting spot on the spectrum of the masculine and feminine energetic continuum, but we were born with both.  We contain both. 

Exploring, honoring and holding these expressions within ourselves is a necessary step towards true wholeness.  As we do this, we find the feminine’s relation to us begins to shift.  

We no longer need to stifle or control that aspect of ourselves.  We begin to be a safe space for ourselves in the true expression of all our energies, and this sense of safety we gain begins to reflect back to us by the feminine without.
